The Ruth E. Cohan Jewish Book Review Series continues at the Main Library, second floor, 100 S. Andrews Avenue, Fort Lauderdale on Thursday, February 14 at noon. The book to be discussed is The Girl in the Green Sweater by Krystyna Chiger with Daniel Paisner. The harrowing, first person account of fourteen months spent in the fetid, underground sewers of Lvov, during the Holocaust (based on the motion picture "In Darkness," official 2012 Academy Award nominee for Best Foreign Language Film).
The reviewer for this program is Joel Glass. Joel received a B.A. from City College of New York and a M.A. from Columbia University. He also took courses for a doctorate at NYU. He majored in U.S. history and modern European history. He taught history for 28 years in the New York City high schools.
