Hazardous Waste

Effective October 1, 2013, Fort Lauderdale's residents will no longer be able to dispose of household hazardous waste, electronics, or yard waste at any of Broward County's three drop-off locations listed below. This service change reflects a decision to streamline fiscal spending and improve operational efficiencies for the City's neighbors by not renewing Broward County waste disposal agreements, resulting in an annual budgetary savings of more than $400,000 per year.

Residents may continue to use one of the County's three locations listed below to drop off household hazardous waste or electronics through Saturday, September 28, 2013.  Proof of residency will be required. Residents should continue to dispose of yard waste through the City's curbside Yard Waste or Bulk Trash Collection Programs.
