Sheriff Al Lamberti Hello, this is Sheriff Al Lamberti. Many of you will be enjoying the Memorial Day weekend with BBQs and celebrations. As a reminder, if you are planning to consume alcohol, don’t drink and drive! BSO deputies will be out in force to ensure the safety of the motoring public this weekend as we do all year round.

I would also like to remind you that during Memorial Day weekend, first responders traditionally receive the most calls for service related to drowning or near drowning incidents in the State of Florida. Drowning is 100% preventable as long as children are properly supervised around water.

Regardless of your plans for the weekend, please take a moment this weekend to remember those who are serving in our nation’s armed forces, especially those who are deployed overseas and away from their families. Their sacrifice ensures our freedom. On behalf of the men and women of the Broward Sheriff’s Office, I wish you a safe Memorial Day.
