The Fort Lauderdale Police Department will be conducting a traffic safety checkpoint on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. in the City of Fort Lauderdale.

The checkpoint will be located near the beach, in the 2500-2600 block of North Ocean Boulevard (North A1A). The traffic safety checkpoint will consist of a single lane closure for northbound traffic on North Ocean Boulevard (North A1A).

Vehicles will be randomly selected and officers will be conducting safety checks along with checking drivers’ licenses, vehicle registrations and proof of insurance.

The purpose of this traffic safety checkpoint is to increase public safety and awareness on the roadways along the beach.
The Fort Lauderdale Police Department does not expect any serious traffic delays due to the traffic checkpoint.
