MIAMI, FL– Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade will hold a last call before stone crab season ends! At the organization's 2nd Annual "Claws for Kids" fundraising brunch on Sunday, May 5, 11:30 a.m. at Joe's Stone Crab in Miami Beach, guests can enjoy delicious stone crabs and other signature Joe's cuisine without the wait. All event proceeds will benefit Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade's state-of-the-art South Beach location. Last year's event raised $32,500 net for the cause.
Joe's will open up its restaurant for brunch on May 5 only for supporters of Boys & Girls Clubs of Miami-Dade's "Claws for Kids."
"Claws for Kids" sponsorship opportunities are available. Table sponsorships range from $1,500 to $10,000. Underwriting opportunities are available, and individual tickets are $175. Gary C. Wendt is a "Large Claw" sponsor of the event.
Menu items will include stone crabs, cole slaw, hash brown potatoes, creamed spinach and Key Lime pie. For those who don't eat stone crabs, main course options will be available.
Entertainment will be provided by Frank Sinatra impersonator Jeff Grainer of Sinatra Sounds Entertainment. Showcasing/selling their pieces on site will be Santayana Jewelers and Gaby Malcer Custom Jewelry.
"Last year's 'Claws for Kids' brunch was a great success, and we're happy to continue this annual event," said Judy Kramer, Claws for Kids committee chair. "The brunch presents a great opportunity to enjoy Joe's delicious cuisine without the wait while raising funds for the new South Beach Club."

After having served the children of Miami Beach for 27 years, the prior 2,500-sq.-ft. South Beach Club on the existing site was demolished in September 2011 to make way for construction of the new facility, which will open early summer 2013 during a celebratory ribbon-cutting party. The new South Beach Club will feature a teen center, state-of-the-art computer lab, teaching kitchen for children, homework rooms, games rooms and a creative arts room, and will serve approximately 400 children from the local area.
