Perry S. Itkin, Esquire, director of the Mediation Training Center, is the 2002 recipient of the Supreme Court of Florida's Dispute Resolution Center Award of Appreciation for advancing the understanding of alternative dispute resolution in Florida. Appointed by the Chief Justice of the Florida Supreme Court, he served on the Alternative Dispute Resolution Rules and Policy Committee 2002-2011. He had been a member of the Mediation Training Review Board from 1997 to 2009 when he was appointed to the Florida Supreme Court Residential Mortgage Foreclosure Task Force. He is a member of the Executive Council of the ADR Section of The Florida Bar and also a member of the Florida Academy of Professional Mediators. He has been a practicing certified Circuit Civil, Family and County Court mediator for over 22 years.
Mr. Itkin has been training mediators in Florida and South America since 1992 and has authored three mediation training manuals. He is the Case and Comment contributor to the Dispute Resolution Center's quarterly publication, The Resolution Report, and creator of the innovative and award winning Florida Mediator, Florida's first Mediator weblog dedicated to Certified Mediators.
He is a frequent lecturer at Florida Bar and Dispute Resolution Center continuing education programs and conferences, past Chairperson of the Broward County Bar Association ADR Section, Past Co-chair of the Florida Bar Family Law Section Arbitration, Mediation and Collaborative Law Committee and Past President of the Association of South Florida Mediators and Arbitrators.
