BROWARD-SCHOOLS-logoFORT LAUDERDALE, FL -- The School Board of Broward County, Florida approved salary increases on February 5, 2013, for approximately 4,568 Broward County Public Schools employees.  District and employee representatives reached tentative agreements in December 2012.

Employees represented by the Federation of Public Employees (FOPE) Clerical Unit, Federation of Public Employees (FOPE) Food Service Unit, Broward Principals and Assistants Association (BPAA), Educational Support Management Association of Broward, Inc. (ESMAB), and Confidential Office Personnel Association (COPE) will receive a salary increase, effective January 1, 2013.

In October of 2012, the School Board approved a salary increase for the District's 14,000 employees who are represented by the Broward Teachers Union (BTU).

District and employee representatives of the Broward Teachers Union – Technical Support Professionals (BTU-TSP) and the Federation of Public Employees (FOPE), representing maintenance, facilities services, transportation, security specialists and campus monitors, are in active discussions in hopes of reaching an agreement as quickly as possible.  Additional information and details will be provided, as the parties continue to work through the collective bargaining process.
