• Drywood Termites are the second most common termite found in Florida. These are not subterranean, underground termites. Drywood termites infest drywood structures and do not need contact with the soil. Colonies of drywood termites are much smaller than subterranean termites and can infest in isolated wood areas. For example, within a home infested with drywood termites there may be several different colonies found within that home at the same time. Drywood termites can be difficult to notice because they will remain within the wooden structures. A sure sign will be wood pellet dropping from the colony.
