FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Television personality Regis Philbin's newest role is starring in a marketing campaign for Holy Cross Hospital that includes billboards and print ads, which begin this month, as well as radio and television commercials.
Raised a Catholic, the popular entertainer donated his services for the non-profit hospital, which is sponsored by the Sisters of Mercy.
One print ad carries the headline, "Compassion is not a corporate policy; it's a personality trait" and a quote by Philbin. In his quote, Philbin declares that the top-rated Holy Cross is the natural choice in South Florida and stresses the hospital's mission-based healthcare stating, "Compassion and hope aid the healing process and make your experience so much better."
"Regis is a household name and we thank him for his generosity in building awareness of the nationally recognized services we provide at Holy Cross," said Patrick A. Taylor, M.D., Holy Cross President and CEO. "We are also grateful to former board member Harry Durkin and Gordon Latz, Vice President of the Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Foundation, for their role in contacting Mr. Philbin and ultimately making this campaign a reality."
The Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Foundation is a major contributor to Holy Cross Hospital and the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women's Center at Holy Cross HealthPlex. Philbin's wife Joy has been named a founding member of the $15 million women's center that has been funded completely through philanthropy and provides advanced breast imaging, minimally invasive diagnostic procedures, stereotactic breast biopsy, bone density studies and ultrasonography.
"Regis is the headliner of the campaign but our true stars are the Holy Cross medical team which has earned a reputation for excellence unsurpassed in the community," said Andrea Bradley, Holy Cross Vice President of Development and Marketing.
