FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Holy Cross Hospital in Fort Lauderdale will open an Urgent Care and Diagnostic Imaging Center to improve patient access to quality, cost-effective outpatient ambulatory care services and to conveniently accommodate those who need diagnostic imaging services. Located at 1115 S. Federal Highway in the Rio Vista community of Fort Lauderdale, the 7,965 square-foot clinic is scheduled for completion in June and will be open 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., seven days a week.
"Holy Cross Hospital has provided compassionate care to the community for 58 years, expanding and enhancing services to meet changing needs," said Holy Cross Hospital President and CEO, Patrick A. Taylor, M.D. "People get the flu and sprain wrists outside of normal doctor hours. Others requiring physicals, immunizations or a diagnostic test often prefer a convenient time outside of their work schedules. The Holy Cross Hospital Urgent Care and Diagnostic Imaging Center is unique in that we will not only provide walk-in comprehensive medical services but patients can make appointments for diagnostic imaging tests as well."
The Holy Cross Urgent Care Center will include six treatment and exam areas and offer services including: treating fractures, sprains, lacerations and burns; treating minor illnesses such as cold and flu; administering immunizations, vaccines and intravenous fluids; and the dispensing of common medications.
Diagnostic imaging services including CT scans, MRIs, digital x-rays and ultrasounds will be offered Monday – Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Patients also will have access to basic laboratory testing, physicals, occupational medicine and workers' compensation services.
The clinic is the first in a series of ambulatory care centers that Holy Cross is planning throughout South Florida.
