Associated Grocers of Florida was recognized by the Broward County Commission for the people they employ and the products they offer that ultimately add to the local economy.
Company CEO Calvin Miller received a proclamation designating Tuesday, June 3 as "Associated Grocers of Florida" Day in Broward County.
Associated Grocers was founded in 1945 and has been in Broward County since 2006, employing approximately 575 people at their Pompano Beach headquarters. The company has more than two million square feet of warehouse space and over 35,000 items for grocers big and small to choose from. They also have international customers in more than 41 countries, enhancing Broward County's influence worldwide.
"Company President Christopher Miller runs the day-to-day operations of the company based on the principles of honesty taught to him by his father who was inducted into the Food Industry Hall of Fame in 2011," noted Mayor Sharief. "Thank you very much for this honor," said Miller. "We love Broward County."
The Broward County Commission through Mayor Barbara Sharief's "Broward Means Business" Initiative is promoting and recognizing successful small businesses that add to the economy and quality of life in Broward County.
Each Tuesday a different Broward business is featured at 10:00 a.m. prior to the beginning of the Broward County Commission regularly scheduled meeting.
