Founded as a CanDo company in 2013, Rising Tide Car Wash, located in Parkland, Florida, is one of the largest employers of people with autism in the U.S. with 30+ employees, and aims to be the premier car wash experience in the market. Breaking down the car washing process into 46 distinct steps, Rising Tide helps its associates with autism realize their incredible capabilities, gain confidence that they never had before, make friends, gain financial independence, and have a place to call their own.
Since its inception, Rising Tide has not onlymade an extraordinary difference in helping people with autism to build a career and achieve an independent lifestyle, but it has also played a majorrole in inspiring communities to change their perception of the capabilities that people with autism have.
Rising Tide is currently in the process of building its second location, which will be 50 percent larger than its original location and is slated to employ at least 45 individuals with autism. By scaling, CanDo has the goal to provide a means for other families to bring this solution to their communities.
“With both a deep interest in financial planning, operations, and serving the community, Tom is a perfect fit for CanDo’s vision and strategy going forward,” said John D’Eri.
“I’m honored to serve as CFO of CanDo Business Ventures,” said Sena. “By utilizing my experience in various areas of accounting and financial planning to expand the reach of Rising Tide, I’m happy to contribute to making a great difference in the lives of individuals withautism.”
