In her new position, Montenaro’s role will be expanded to include overseeing all operations, including all YMCA Family Centers, membership, marketing and communications. Montenaro was previously executive vice president of operations, where she provided oversight for the Y’s membership family center operations and marketing initiatives, implementing strategies to increase revenue to ensure the Y continues to recover from the financial impact of COVID and provide programs to meet the needs of local communities in South Florida. She began her career at the YMCA of South Florida seven years ago as executive director of early childhood education and association aquatics.
Prior to joining the YMCA, Montenaro spent 20 years in operations with Kindercare and The Learning Experience, where she consistently grew revenue and exceeded benchmarks.
“Tara has always had a passion for children, which eventually led her to the Y,” said Sheryl Woods, CEO and president of YMCA South Florida. “Tara’s leadership skills, hands-on approach and ability to execute will continue to positively impact the lives of kids, families and adults in our community. We truly appreciate her dedication to the Y’s mission.”
A resident of Boynton Beach, Montenaro graduated from Palm Beach State College with an Associate of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Teaching and a Bachelor of Science in Operations Management and Supervison.
