Lauderdale Yacht Club (LYC) Sailors Take 3 Silver Medals at the International Sailing Federation (ISAF) 2011 Volvo Youth Worlds.  The United States team won three silver medals at the ISAF Volvo Youth Sailing World Championships on July 15, 2011 in Zadar, Croatia. Fifty-eight nations were represented in at least one of the eight classes. The racing took place over seven days (with one lay day). In the Girls' 420 class LYC's Christina Lewis crewing for Morgan Kiss tied first place but lost on a tiebreaker to earn the Silver Medal. In the Girls' Laser Radial, LYC's Erika Reineke sailed a fine last race to jump from 4th to the podium, also taking the Silver Medal. In the 29er class, LYC's Mac Agnese, crewing for Antoinne Screve finished tied for second but won on the tiebreaker to take the Silver. When you see these kids around Fort Lauderdale later this summer, be sure to congratulate them for a job well done representing the United States at the most prestigious youth regatta in the world.

The International Sailing Federation (ISAF) is recognized by the International Olympic Committee as the world governing body for the sport of sailing. It provides information on World Standings, Race Officials, Sailors and Olympic Classes.
