It is unfortunate to rate this establishment one star because prior to eating breakfast there today we have had great food and service. We have recommended it to friends, family, clients ect. countless times. This is a no tipping establishment so expect to pay higher prices as the tips are built into the menu items, the plus side is the service was always perfect and the food as well so we never were concerned about it.

Today was a different story. We ordered the Hash special ($23), which we have ordered the past few times we have went and shared a coffee ($9). Today we were told that we would be charged ($10) to share this meal, the same meal we always order together. We said that has never been added before and we have ate here several times and our server, Bobby replied well that's how it always is with a condescending tone. Rather than accept this charge, we ordered an additional two eggs over medium ($7) even though the hash is more then enough food for two adults.

Normally, the servers are extremely friendly so we weren't really sure what the problem was but based on how good the food is we were still excited for our meal.

45 mins after placing our order, we received the eggs by themselves first, they were under cooked and runny and were brought by another server. Two mins later we received the Hash with a additional plate even though we made it clear we had no intention of paying an additional ($10) to share food when we both ordered two different things at this point.

The hash was not good this morning and the eggs included with the hash were also under cooked. After a little bit of time, our original server finally returned and asked how our food was, we said the eggs were under cooked and that the hash wasn't as it normal was. She offered to remake our eggs but honestly, we didn't have 45 more mins to wait so we ended up eating some of the egg yolk, two pieces of bread and a few pieces of the hash which again seemed under cooked and more like a stew rather then the hash we were use to.

We waited and waited for our server to return and finally had to ask someone else to send over the check so we could leave. She brought the check over and again asked how the food was so I replied exactly the same as when you asked me earlier, its not like the eggs cooked themselves in 62 degree weather. She told me I was rude to her and the food is always the same and if I had an issue with the food I should have said something, so I laughed at her and told her to cash my check out. She then I can go F**** myself, and I said excuse me? I can go F*** myself? Is that how you talk to people? She continued to say stuff under her breath as she walked away, so I went inside and looked for someone to speak to.

The only person who wasn't wearing a branded shirt was a man standing inside near the kitchen who I approached and said is it normal for your staff to tell customers to go F*** themselves if they have a complaint? He said excuse me? what is all this about so I repeated myself and he asked me step towards the front door. I explained that the food wasn't good, and he replied also well you should have came in and got me so I could have taken care of it. I replied, we did not have 45 mins to wait for you guys to remake eggs, he said well obviously your just a difficult person to deal with arent you? I said give me my card so I can leave he said your going to sign this ticket or I will get your license plate and call the police for theft of service (again at this point I laughed because they already charged my card, and this was a complete joke at this point). He then asked me to leave his restaurant and told me I can go F*** myself as well. No apology, zero cares about what happened and still walked away with a $40 ticket. The worst part is this person, who was in some type of leadership role was setting a terrible example for all his other employees who now see this as a okay way to treat customers. This is where the society in the United States has a real issue.

If you read the story of the O-B house on their website: "When I conceived of the O-B House a certain set of principles embodied the vision. Those are the principles I grew up with; a wholesomeness that comes with being raised in the middle of the Corn Belt. Iowa farm country, where the 6 a.m. whistle blew every morning from the town center and which typically found my Grandmother already up and cooking the morning meal, meals that were always made from scratch and combined from local ingredients."

I am not sure who I spoke to because they had no name tags, but this persons grandma would certainly be disappointed. We will no longer be recommending your restaurant and will actively turn people away from it based on today's experience.
