FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – Fourteen children from Children’s Harbor’s enjoyed a memorable night aboard Bill Mahoney’s yacht, Bottom Line, on the way to the Chart House for a scrumptious dinner. The Chart House has been a steadfast supporter of Children’s Harbor underwriting the Graduation Cruise dinner for the 2nd year in a row.
“The success of our students in school is a major focus our work.” said Elizabeth Wynter, President and CEO at Children’s Harbor. “In the past, so many of these children haven’t had opportunities to flourish in school because of extremely difficult circumstances.”
Guests for the Graduation Cruise Dinner included Board Chair Sherry Stein, board members Karla Nickell and Diana Runcie, as well as Superintendent of Broward County School Public Schools Robert Runcie.
For the 2nd year in a row, all the students at Children’s Harbor graduated to the next grade. “Everyone is rooting for them to succeed, and being celebrated this way will hopefully inspire them to greater success,” said Stein.
Two alumni, Alexandra and Sandra Remy were also welcomed aboard the cruise.
“I think this is a great way to inspire us to excel,” said one of the students.
About Children’s Harbor
Established in 1996, Children’s Harbor is a nationally accredited nonprofit agency with a mission to provide a safe harbor and support to at risk children, youth, and families-keeping brothers and sisters together, strengthening families, and guiding youth towards independence.
Children’s Harbor provides nurturing, family group homes for 24 siblings and 7 pregnant/parenting teens in the foster care system on our beautiful 8 acre campus in Pembroke Pines. These loving homes

Also Children’s Harbor has recently received a 5-year federal grant entitled True North, which will help 200 young adults age 18 to 23, who have been involved in the foster care system, forge pathways to healthy relationships and economic stability. And the Lifeline Program providing mental health and substance abuse prevention to at-risk Caribbean youth.
