Fort Lauderdale, FL -- The Humane Society of Broward County's PAWS group is in the midst of planning and organizing its annual themed event "Passport to PAWS" presented by The Gaddis Family Foundation and Yellow Cab Company -- and with this year's gala theme, "Boardwalk Empire," it promises to be quite the extravaganza!
The Passport to PAWS event always evokes a sense of traveling and this year we will “travel back” to the Boardwalk Empire days of the exciting 1920's with its glitz, glamour, bootleg gin and mobsters. There will be gorgeous decor, flapper fashions, and party-time music and dance. Vintage cars will be on display to add even more nostalgia. Event Chairs Christine Forman, Margaret Meldeau and Lori Sisko have their committee hard at work ensuring that this trip back in time will be an evening to be remembered!
This time traveling event will take place at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale on Saturday, May 16 starting at 6:30 p.m. Attire is black tie or 1920's-inspired -- flappers, mob bosses -- think Gatsby and Daisy, Al Capone and Lucky Luciano.
Passport to PAWS tickets are $250 per person. Guests will enjoy dinner and dancing, a cocktail hour with silent auction, live auction with auctioneer Gordon Latz, and entertainment by the band Studio One. There will also be a prize drawing for the chance to win a Las Vegas getaway for four days and three nights at the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore Hotel with two tickets to see a show of the winner’s choice, $250 towards dinner or gambling and two roundtrip tickets on Southwest Airlines. Prize drawing tickets are $50 each or three for $100.
A keepsake journal is being compiled and printed for the evening, with opportunities to promote your business or to honor a beloved person or pet. Pet listings start at just $25, and ads start as low as $150.
