FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – It has been a big year on the award front for Brett Rose, and the major honors keep coming.
Rose, president/CEO of UNCS (United National Consumer Suppliers), and his company were the top vote getters among organizations in their revenue category ($10-24 million) at the 2012 Entrepreneur Awards. Honorees were solicited from the public by the South Florida Business Journal, vetted by its editorial staff and then chosen by the newspaper after site visits from members of the South Florida chapter of the Entrepreneurs’ Organization.
"In a region driven by many creative business leaders who have made their dreams into realities that employ people and grow our economy, we truly value new ideas and the brave business pioneers who take them forward," said Business Journal President and Publisher Melanie Dickinson.
Earlier this year, UNCS joined companies such as Facebook, Levi Strauss, CDW, and Publix Supermarkets on the Inc. 5000 list of fastest growing, privately-held companies in America. It was the third consecutive year the company was honored by the national magazine. UNCS was also named “Business of the Year” and the 36-year-old Rose included on the “40 Under 40” list, which recognizes the top young business talent in South Florida’s tri-county area, both by the Business Journal.
UNCS (www.uncs.com), which is celebrating its 10th anniversary in 2012, is a wholesale distributor that specializes in supplying retailers (Walgreens, Marshalls, TJ Maxx, Home Goods, Winn-Dixie, Groupon, and Toys “R” Us, among others) discounted excess inventory and overstock from product manufacturers. It also has a business-to-consumer side, potentially reaching nearly 100 million registered daily users through ‘deal of the day’ sites and expecting to open a retail store in Fort Lauderdale in early 2013.
