FORT LAUDERDALE, FL - The City of Fort Lauderdale Parks and Recreation Department is pushing forward with initiatives at Florence C. Hardy Park aimed at meeting the needs of our neighbors today and for future generations. The playground at Hardy Park, located at 25 S.W. 9th Street, will be enhanced by adding a new shade structure. Beginning Monday, November 18, the playground will be closed while the shade structure is installed over the next few weeks.
Hardy Park is a representative model of the City’s vision for parks and recreation. The City of Fort Lauderdale developed the 7.8 acre property as a neighborhood park with a boundless playground, multi-purpose playing fields, bench seats, an exercise area, native landscaping, lighting, and free parking.
Additional infrastructure improvements underway include a new site drainage system, new domestic water and sewer systems, a new irrigation system, ADA-accessible restroom facilities, and a pavilion.
Park hours are from 8 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily.
