Indian-Ridge-Middle-School-Student-Named-Semifinal.aspx Indian Ridge Middle School 8th grade student Madelyn White. Congratulations to Indian Ridge Middle School student Madelyn White for being named a Broadcom MASTERS Competition Semifinalist. White is one of only 300 students from across the country to be selected as a semifinalist, out of more than 2,000 student applicants.

The Broadcom MASTERS Competition is the leading science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) competition for middle school students. It aims to encourage students to continue their studies and focus on STEM throughout high school.

To enter the Broadcom MASTERS Competition, students must have competed in a regional or state science fair, and scored among the top 10 percent. White won 1st place in the Botany category at the Broward County Science Fair last school year and earned 4th place in the same category at the State Science and Engineering Fair.

As a semifinalist in the Broadcom MASTERS Competition, White is now in the running to be named one of 30 finalists, each of whom will win an all-expense paid trip to Washington D.C., for MASTERS Week, which includes STEM-related competitions for awards and prizes.
