MIRAMAR – World-renowned marine wildlife artist and conservationist Guy Harvey will bring his latest documentary, Whale Sharks of the Yucatan: A Guy Harvey Expedition, to the Miramar Cultural Center | ArtsPark on Thursday, May 1 at 7:30 p.m.  Sponsored by The Miramar Cultural Trust, guests will be able to meet Harvey and participate in a Q & A session following the film.  Proceeds will benefit the Guy Harvey Ocean Foundation and cultural arts programming in Miramar.

“South Florida is one of the sport fishing capitals of the world and we are extremely pleased to be showcasing Guy Harvey’s documentary, as well as an exhibition of his artwork at the Miramar Cultural Arts Center,” said Jim Goggins, chair of the Miramar Cultural Trust. “He not only has brought the sport to light through his artwork, but used his fame to bring critical conservation efforts to the forefront.”

Guests also will have the opportunity to view Harvey’s exhibition Celebration of the Sea: A Guy Harvey Exhibit, currently on display in the Center’s Ansin Family Art Gallery. The exhibition showcases original framed pieces and an eclectic collection of Harvey’s vibrantly visual and authentically depicted marine works of art on tile, canvas and giclees.

“We are happy to be working with the Miramar Cultural Trust to bring this film and exhibition to South Florida,” said Steve Stock, president of Guy Harvey, Inc. “We appreciate the opportunity to spread the word about marine conservation, as well as provide a thrilling look at the mysterious world of whale sharks.”
