FORT LAUDERDALE, FL – United Way of Broward County and Wells Fargo are launching a new fundraising initiative, the Wells Fargo Community Challenge. Based on the premise of matching donations, Wells Fargo has agreed to fund up to $75,000 for every dollar United Way can generate through online contributions.
"We are so grateful to Wells Fargo for making this generous offer, and we are excited to launch this campaign that essentially doubles the power of every donation," said Kathleen Cannon, President and CEO of United Way of Broward County. "We have seen the success of this initiative at other United Ways across the nation, and we know our loyal and generous Broward community is up for the challenge!"
"Wells Fargo is committed to making South Florida a better place to live and work," said Joe Atkinson, South Florida Regional President. "We are pleased to support United Way of Broward County and applaud the organization for its commitment to helping our local residents succeed financially."
Today, United Way launched a dedicated webpage at UnitedWayBroward.org to make donating quick and easy.
Dollars raised will be used to support the myriad of critical programs United Way funds to help those in need in Broward County including supporting military families, improving people's heath, providing emergency needs, preventing substance abuse, encouraging education and empowering people to greater earning potential.
