FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – Joey Epstein, Chief Financial Officer of JetSmarter Inc. has been elected Chair of the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA). Mr. Epstein’s one year term begins on July 1, 2016. With more than thirty years of involvement with the organization, Epstein brings a wealth of experience and knowledge as the new Chair.
“I really enjoy being so involved with the organizations that mean so much to the accounting industry and allow me the opportunity to give back to my profession,” said Joey Epstein. “I’m looking forward to continuing to serve for years to come.”
The Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants works to advance the accounting profession for the more than 18,500 members, making it one of the largest Certified Public Accountant (CPA) firms in the United States. As Chair, Epstein will continue the FICPA’s role of representing a commitment to the CPA profession and enforcing the Code of Professional Conduct standards. Through its objectives, the FICPA encourages the analysis, discussion and understanding of issues and trends in the profession.
Epstein has been the Chief Financial Officer at JetSmarter since January, 2016. Prior to that time he was a Director with RSM LLP for almost 12 years. Epstein also serves as a Board Member for several organizations in South Florida including the Downtown Fort Lauderdale Transportation Management Association, Business for the Arts of Broward, Bonnet House Museum & Gardens, and FLITE. He also is a member of the Ambassador’s Board of Nova Southeastern University. With a degree from Miami University (Ohio), Epstein is a CPA and licensed to practice in Florida. He also holds a Health and Life, including Variable Annuity Insurance License, with the state of Florida.
Mr. Epstein is married to Kip Hunter-Epstein and resides in Fort Lauderdale.
