Ollie (ID# 432931) is a 2 year young, 73 pound mastiff mix who is well trained and good with people of all ages. His family gave him up because they are moving. Ollie is just one of many dogs looking for a loving home.
Fort Lauderdale, FL – If you've thought about adding a pet to your home, now may be the perfect time to stop by the Humane Society of Broward County. Through the end of October there are some incredible adoption opportunities.
In honor of October being "National Adopt an Adult Dog Month" the adoption fee for all dogs over the age of 6 months will be cut in half. The adoption fee is normally $100, but until October 31st the fee will be just $50.
We don't want to leave the kitties out so the adoption fee for all felines over the age of 6 months is being waived all together -- that's an $85 savings. Also, the fee for kittens has been reduced to $50.
The Humane Society of Broward County wants to thank all of the South Florida school employees for their dedication to our youth. As a special thank you, any South Florida school employee can adopt a pet and the adoption fee will be waived entirely through the end of the month. (They must show their school ID for verification.)
The shelter is conveniently located at 2070 Griffin Road, just a block west of I-95 and adoption hours through October are:
Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday: 10:00 AM – 6:30 PM
Sunday: 10:00 AM – Midnight
Wednesday: 10:00 AM – 8:30 PM
All pets are spayed or neutered before going home; receive preliminary vaccinations; microchip and registration, feline leukemia test or heartworm test; 14 day health care plan courtesy of VCA Animal Hospitals; a bag of Purina ONE pet food and more.
