Like many members in the community, Broward County Public Schools Superintendent Robert W. Runcie will begin his day early on Election Day, arriving at his voter precinct, Brian Piccolo Park, 9501 Sheridan Street, Cooper City, at 7:30 a.m. to cast his ballot.
The Superintendent will then utilize his personal time to talk to voters around the county about the General Obligation Bond referendum, which would provide BCPS with $800 million to invest in critical needs across the District, and answer questions about the District’s SMART initiative, which focuses on Safety, Music & Art, Athletics, Renovations and Technology.
In the evening, Superintendent Runcie will join Citizens for Safe and Modern Schools to watch the votes come in starting at about 7:30 p.m. at the Great American Farms, 11 SW 15th Street, Fort Lauderdale.
“This is a historical day for our School District,” said Superintendent Runcie. “I am very proud of the entire Broward County community for their support and for understanding the importance of investing in our schools, students and teachers.”
