FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. –February 15, 2016- Orchestra Hotels + Resorts, a prestigious South Florida based hotelier and developer, commemorated the launch of its one-of-a-kind, 3-D light show projected off of The Ocean Resort Residences Conrad Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort with an exclusive outdoor VIP watch party and cocktail reception featuring the city’s most notable leaders and influencers. The artistic light installation, which spanned the entire façade of the luxury condo-hotel, emphasized some of the Michael Graves-designed property’s unique geometry while showcasing the finest elements of Fort Lauderdale’s refined, nautical lifestyle.
Andreas Ioannou, CEO of Orchestra Hotels + Resorts, joined Jose Luis Zapata, hotelier and developer of The Ocean Resort Residences in welcoming Mayor Jack Seiler, County Commissioner Mark D. Bogen, County Commissioner Lois Wexler, and Commissioner Dean Trantalis among the 150 VIPs who attended the private launch event. Situated on the sixth-floor pool deck of the developer’s neighboring Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, attendees had a sky-high view of the light show, which projected more than 70,000 lumens of color brightness to create a colossal mapping display visible from The Ocean’s beachfront surroundings. Guests remained enthralled by repeated installations of the light-filled performance as they were served signature frosted cocktails and a selection of passed hors d’oeuvres. Later in the evening, Ioannou thanked the crowd and welcomed Mayor Seiler, who addressed attendees about Fort Lauderdale’s booming tourism industry and emphasized the significance of The Ocean’s light show, which will run at 7 p.m., 8 p.m. and 9 p.m. each night until the end of March.
