The 17th Annual Fort Lauderdale A1A Marathon will take place on Fort Lauderdale Beach on Sunday, February 20th from approximately 5:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. The race is tentatively scheduled to begin at 6:00 a.m. The Fort Lauderdale Police Department will have personnel stationed along the marathon route to guide pedestrians and motorists and ensure public safety.

For the duration of the event, both northbound lanes of A1A will be dedicated to runners. North and south vehicular traffic will be redirected to the southbound lanes of A1A. Temporary road closures will occur on Seabreeze Boulevard at East Las Olas Boulevard and on A1A just north of Sunrise Boulevard. Motorists are encouraged to carefully review the listed road closures and should expect delays. Event organizers have placed message signboards throughout the route providing ample time for motorists to prepare for the below closures.

Road Closures: The Fort Lauderdale Beach Park parking lot will be closed from midnight until 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 20th. During the event, no vehicles will be allowed to travel north on A1A from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard.

Marathon Route: The starting line and finish line will be located in the Fort Lauderdale Beach Park parking lot. Runners will continue south from the parking lot to Mayan Drive and then north into Harbor Beach. They will exit out of Harbor Beach at the Southeast 17th Street ramp and head north on Seabreeze Boulevard. The course will then continue north on A1A past Oakland Park Boulevard north into Lauderdale by the Sea for full and half marathoners. The runners will run a loop from Lauderdale by the Sea back to the entrance of the Fort Lauderdale Beach Park parking lot. Traffic will be redirected at the intersection of Sunrise Boulevard at A1A.

There will be no northbound traffic from Sunrise Boulevard to Oakland Park Boulevard however, the southbound lanes of A1A will remain open.
