ORLANDO, Fla. – The Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive, a Florida-style resort in the heart of Orlando’s world-famous tourism district, is ready to welcome smiling faces once again.
The resort today announced it will reopen on Friday, June 5, 2020, following a temporary closure due to COVID-19.
Upon reopening, the hotel will be implementing stringent procedures to help make the property a healthy, safe space for guests and employees alike. The Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive will be following the American Hotel & Lodging Association’s (AHLA) “Stay Safe” guidelines, as well as all Centers for Disease Control & Prevention’s (CDC) recommendations.
These changes include:
- Hand sanitizer dispensers will be placed at key guest and employee entrances and contact areas, including lobby reception areas, restaurant entrances, meeting spaces, pools, exercise areas and more.
- All employees will receive COVID-19 safety sanitation protocol training, and employees will follow Personal Protective Equipment recommendations from the CDC.
- Public spaces and communal areas will be cleaned and disinfected multiple times per day, with an emphasis on hard non-porous surfaces.
- Pool seating will be reconfigured to allow for at least six feet of separation between groups of guests.
- Meeting and banquet arrangements shall allow for physical distancing between guests, based on CDC recommendations.
“We are always looking for ways to provide our guests with a comfortable place to call home as they explore our walkable neighborhood,” said Charlie Kingston, the resort’s general manager. “This is just another way we can provide our guests with peace of mind and a great experience.”
The Wyndham Orlando Resort’s property lends itself well to social distancing. As a true Florida resort, guest quarters are situated around a sprawling courtyard. The sprawling outdoor areas allow guests to explore secluded spaces in what feels like a tropical oasis tucked just off the bustling I-Drive. With a central location, guests can enjoy the fresh air on a short walk to a number of world-famous attractions.
The Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive will indeed be a great launching pad for guests to safely explore the surrounding area. Many restaurants, shops and attractions along the famed I-Drive have reopened with safety precautions in place—including the can’t-miss ICON Park.
One of Orlando’s signature attractions, The Wheel at ICON Park, is reopening June 3, and with it comes savings.
ICON Park is offering its Play Pass to all Florida, Georgia and Alabama residents for only $55. The Play Pass grants guests one entry to The Wheel at ICON Park in a private capsule, Madame Tussauds Orlando, SEA LIFE Orlando Aquarium, Orlando Starflyer, Pearl Express Train and 7D Dark Ride Adventure as well as a $5 Play Card from Arcade City. It also unlocks restaurant and retail discounts throughout the complex. Wyndham resort guests also receive a 25 percent discount on food and beverage offerings at The Wheelhouse Market.
ICON Park is part of the Wyndham Orlando Resort’s walkable neighborhood. The resort features 613 recently renovated guest rooms, two pools and multiple on-site dining options.
In addition to the special procedures at the Wyndham Orlando Resort International Drive, Wyndham Hotels & Resorts is delivering on its “Count on Us” initiative, which elevates health and cleanliness protocols, shores up supply chains and introduces new standards and training guidelines in the wake of COVID-19.
