SOUTH FLORIDA -- Kick-start your nostalgia-cycle and roll into yesterday. Here's your chance to hold and perhaps own a piece of your playtime history.

For all the fans of American Pickers, Pawn Stars and Auction Kings, get ready to 'pick, peruse and purchase'! This isn't a reality TV show, this is real reality! The 2013 edition (33rd year!) of the Miami Antique Toy Show remains the last - and the only - purely antique toy, doll, and collectibles show in the southern United States. Think of it as a journey through your childhood memories with all the great toys you had or wanted. If you're under 40, think of it as a journey through someone else's memories.

If you'd like to meander through thousands of terrific old toys and dolls and collectibles – die-cast Dinky Toy, Tootsie-toy, Matchbox and Mattel vehicles and plastic Kenner action figures, hollow-cast Britain and Barclay soldiers and Tonka and Structo steel trucks, Marx, Chein, and Carette character toys, Lionel Trains and all sorts of other battery-operated and wind-up toy wonders, then you've come to the right place.

The nostalgia alone is worth the price of admission, and that general admission remains just five dollars. (Under twelve gets in for three dollars, and five years old and under are free) Wrench those kids away from their video games and show them what life was like in the 'old days' of play time.

The show starts right at 10 a.m. and continues to 4 p.m. All the dealers start setting up at about 7 a.m. (although the line starts forming around 6:30), and early 'Floor Rights' passes are available for twenty-five dollars, allowing diehard collectors access to the dealers' goods from 7 a.m. to 10 a.m., before the show opens to the public

This one day only event takes place at the Doral Intercontinental Hotel, on Sunday February 10th. The venue features plenty of free parking, and easy access from a major Miami highway: the NW 25th Street exit of the Palmetto Expressway (aka SR 826). Take that exit west for about a mile and a half, and the hotel is on your right at the corner of NW 87th Avenue.
