FORT LAUDERDALE – The Sindi Association of Florida proudly presents The 2012 Children's Diwali Show, an exciting cultural evening of dance on Saturday, October 27 at 7 p.m. in the Amaturo Theater at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts as part of the Broward Center's Arts Access Program.   The evening includes a pre-curtain photo session and snacks at 5:30 p.m. and a post-show dinner.

Celebrating Diwali, the festival of lights, the festive evening begins with children from the local Indian community performing music and dance from their culture.  The post-performance dinner features delicious, mouth-watering Indian delicacies. 

A highlight of the event will be the presentation of the non-profit organization’s second annual Lifetime Achievement Award recognizing a member of the local Sindhi community who has contributed his or her time and effort to make an impact on the Association in an effort to keep the Sindi culture alive.

The Broward Center’s Arts Access program assists community-based organizations in presenting arts and cultural performances at the Broward Center. The program provides technical assistance and marketing support to local community groups enabling them to develop and build their audiences.  Arts Access has collaborated with over 50 performing arts companies, nonprofit organizations and cultural and community groups to present all genres of the performing arts including music, dance, theater, poetry and comedy.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $20 for children ages four -12 years of age in advance of the performance and $40 for adults on the day of the show.  All children three years of age and under will be admitted free.  Tickets are available through the Broward Center’s AutoNation Box Office at 954/462-0222 or online at www.BrowardCenter.org.
