WASHINGTON, Sept. 7 (UPI) -- Galant Food Co. in San Leandro, Calif. recalled about 1,650 pounds of fresh and frozen calzone products because of misbranding and an undeclared allergen.

The products are formulated with a glaze that contains egg, a known allergen, which is not declared on the label, the company said.

The products subject to recall include:

-- 10-ounce packages, in 7.5 pound cases, of "ENZO'S Italian Combo Calzone" bearing the establishment number "EST. 9014" inside the USDA mark of inspection on the label. Identifying case codes are: 7163, 7173, 7183, 7223, 7253, 8143, 8303 and 9043.

-- 10-ounce packages, in 7.5-pound cases, of "ENZO'S Chicken Fajita Calzone" bearing the establishment number "P-9014" inside the U.S. Agriculture Department mark of inspection on the label. Identifying case codes are: 7163, 7173, 7183, 7223, 8133 and 9043.

The products were produced from July 16 to Sept. 4 and shipped to distributors, retail locations and possibly restaurants in the San Francisco Bay area, health officials said.

The USDA's Food Safety and Inspection Service said the problem was discovered during a food safety assessment at the establishment. The problem occurred because the wrong computer was connected to the label printer during the firm's recent relocation, FSIS said.
